Have you ever written a post that you really think is great? Then you have that sinking feeling in your stomach when you realise that it will soon be lost in your archives for ever and will barely see the light of day again.
There are ways to give those good and informative posts of old a bit of an airing. And today I have listed four ways that can help you expose these posts to the readers who may not have seen them before.
1. Create A Weekly/Monthly Blog Post With Archived Posts
This is something that I currently only do on my newsletter. Every week, or every month, you pick a day to create a post that will feature some of your best posts that you feel deserve another airing.
2. When Writing A Post Include A Link To An Archive Post When Possible
When you write a post there may be an option to sneak in a link to an old post you have done in the past. This is one of my favourite ways of airing out my old posts because it is so easy and Google doesn’t punish you for it.
3. Add A Most Commented List To Your Layout
I love widgets, they are like toys to me. You can do what I did in the sidebar of my blog and place a list of the most commented posts you have. Thanks to this widget I have seen people visiting these old posts and even commenting on them.
4. Post Links On Twitter & Facebook
This is an excellent method of gaining extra exposure for your old posts. Post a link, and a little teaser to the post, on your Twitter and Facebook accounts. I have seen some very promising results doing this.
