Confession Of A Bingo Player

Guilty pleasures; we all have them, be it a certain band, a rubbish film, a boring hobby like train spotting, or merely stuffing your face with bars and bars of chocolate. Mine happens to be playing on bingo sites. I don’t admit that very often because the game of bingo is normally associated with elderly people or bitter single women, but I am a fan and I’m now out and I’m proud.

Playing bingo was a big part of my diet as a child. Holidaying in England meant we would inevitably spend a few hours every day playing bingo on the piers as the rain belted down outside. It was either bingo or the 2p machines (Google ‘2p machines’ in Google images to see what they were) and since we all thought the 2p machines were rigged it only left one other option.

When I was 15 my mum took me to her local bingo hall for the evening, I had to pretend to be older than I was (you have to be at least 18 years of age to gamble in the United Kingdom), the games didn’t come thick and fast as when we were on holiday so I spent most of the evening bored out of my head – my mum didn’t take me again as she told me to stop tapping my fingers on the table as elderly women glared at me.

These days you can play bingo online thanks to the many bingo sites that have sprung up on the internet over the past 10 years or so, this is great news for people like me who might not be ready to let other people know about their love for playing a game that the Italians gave us in the 1500s.

The only problem with these online game though is that there are so many of them that it can become almost impossible to know which ones are worth trying out and which ones should be avoided like a drunk loud chick at a party.

Or should I say “it USED to be impossible” because there are guide websites popping up that try and help advise you on the best bingo games available. Some of these guide websites even show you the prizes that are up for grabs and they also have ratings by people who have actually played the games.

They are quick to add new bingo sites as they come along, you can even search for games that don’t require a deposit, if you want to get a feel for a game before you part with your hard earned money.

Although bingo might not be as popular as slots or poker it is certainly something that gives plenty of us a lot of enjoyment, whether we admit it or not.
