Beware Of CEOAds

Over the past couple of weeks I have been looking at other ways of monetising the blogs that I run. I found a company called CEO Ads who promised that you could earn somewhere in the region of $3.60 per 1000 impressions so I gave them a whirl.

If you are thinking about using them then my advice to you is do not touch them with a ten foot barge pole!

When I installed their code on my blogs I started receiving complaints from readers saying that an irritating audio ad keeps playing over and over. And sometimes there are multiple audio ads playing in unison so it sounds like the blog has multiple personality disorder!

What this code does is it not only loads audio ads but it also sometimes hijacks the blog and takes the visitors to a completely different site (Jokeroo for one), it is also been known to load pop up ads.

None of this is explained in their terms of service or on their web site.

I have tried to email their customer support team five times yet they never reply. After searching on Google I’ve found that they have been doing this for of thing for years under various names such as pay-ads and Xoads.

I am in the process of removing this code from all my blogs. I suggest if you have signed up for this service that you do the same.
